Terms of Service
Effective: October 19, 2026
1. Purpose
These terms set out the conditions for using Sogon (the “Service”) and the rights and obligations of the operator and users.
2. The Service
The Service is a messaging service for web browsers and a Chrome extension. Messages are encrypted on your device before delivery and are not stored on our servers. The Service is provided free of charge.
3. Signing up
- You sign up by signing in with a Google account, and agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy.
- Children under 14 may not sign up.
4. Your obligations
You must not:
- Send content that violates the law or infringes others’ rights
- Send spam, harassment, impersonation, non-consensual intimate imagery or other harmful content
- Interfere with the Service (automated mass requests, attempts to bypass security, etc.)
The disguise screens are a privacy feature. You are responsible for following the information security policies and workplace rules of your employer or school, and the operator is not responsible for problems arising from breaking them.
5. Message content
Messages are stored only on your devices, so the operator cannot keep, recover or provide them. Messages cannot be recovered after you reset a device, leave a chat or delete your account.
6. Changes and interruptions
The operator may change or discontinue the Service and will announce important changes in advance. As the Service is free, no compensation is provided for interruptions.
7. Restrictions and account deletion
- You may delete your account at any time with ‘Delete account’ on the chat list screen.
- If you violate section 4, the operator may restrict your use or delete your account.
8. Limitation of liability
Except in cases of intent or gross negligence, the operator is not liable for damages caused by force majeure, failures of external services (Google sign-in, browser push, etc.) or problems with your devices.
